I couldn’t help but overhear your conversation with my youngest brother earlier today. I felt obliged to let you know that I didn’t, by any means, let him harm any dogs, rabbits or cats. He did, however, feed on a mountain lion a couple of days ago, and I am afraid that some squirrels were harmed, too, which I feel terrible about.

I must tell you that my whole family was extremely surprised about him suddenly “going all Edward Cullen on us” (his words, not mine), but we all respect it, even though Niklaus takes far too much pleasure in mocking him.
